Channapatna toys, a speciality of Channapatana, popularly known as the toy town of South India, are known for their sturdy wooden structure and glossy finish. These toys are crafted in a non-toxic way with Hale Wood and Lac based vegetable dyes, to make them safe for children. The extensive process involves procuring and seasoning the wood, then sculpting it to achieve the desired shape and finally coating it with natural colors. The toys are polished to give them a unique shine.
